UPDATE: BHRR’s The Spice was ADOPTED tonight!

Congrats to her beautiful new forever loving family!

A hard one for me on my heart yet, a good one also! Another Chapter now begins for BHRR’s Spice’s CHAIN OF SUCCESS story!!! She did not want to leave me, yet, she will be fine…..I was the first kindness she knew and she will continue to have that kindness and caring love for the rest of her life!

Not the best shot of BHRR’s Spice yet, you get the idea! πŸ™‚

BHRR's Spice is moving under a PENDING ADOPTION! We will update her blog as we can.

Here is a photo of her at the PV Stittsville 'THANKS FOR GIVING EVENT' in October. She was SOOOOOOOOO popular that she came both days!

SHE has come so far and I am bursting with pride for her! πŸ™‚ She is eager to please, obedient and her manners are top notch! With the continued understanding and caring forever right matched home, she is going to keep flourishing!

AND, her eyes look marvelous! πŸ™‚

From Friday October 18th to Sunday November 3rd, 2013 inclusive, BHRR will not be open for adoptions or the intake of adoption applications.

We do not adopt out around the Halloween season and many others Rescues, shelters, pounds etc. have also begun to follow a similar protocol.

We do not believe it is in the best interest of the animals in our program, especially for dark coloured dogs.

During this time, BHRR is available 24/7 as always for requests for assistance of animals in need.

BHRR's Spice had her annual yesterday and she weighed 39.9 kg(87.78 pounds)! Just bordering on getting a wee bit plump, so monitoring!
The compliments on her coat were incredible and how well she is doing and how healthy she is and how smart she is!
She was a HUGE hit at PV Stittsville this past weekend and such a huge hit, that we were asked to bring her back on Sunday too!
Hoping that her right matched forever loving home finds her soon!
SHE is NO longer that terrified girl hiding in the shadows from where she came or under my computer desk when she first arrived to BHRR! Ms. Social!

A short time ago, I received an email from the most talented and I want to say also, very beautiful and special Liz Bradley of The Ottawa Dog Blog.

http://ottawadogblog.ca/2013/08/we-won-the-top-most-influential-dog-blog-online/

As many are aware, there was a voting contest recently for the Most Influential Dog Blog online and the competition was quite tough AND, thanks to such an incredible surrounding community The Ottawa Dog Blog WON! By taking 60% of the votes!

HUGE Congratulations Liz & Jane!!! Extremely well deserved! Your blog is quite important and valued deeply by so many and you make a BIG difference daily with all your efforts! I have loved watching your amazing 'baby' grow plus develop!

AND, what so humbly surprised me(AND, made me grab yet, another tissue…this time with a welling up of good tears!), was that Liz/Jane was awarded a lifesaving generous gift of $500 donation to the charity of her choice AND they chose BHRR!! As they have posted about, there are SO many great r/q Rescues deserving and in need and, I am touched, humbled and feel privileged to have our small rescue chosen to be the recipient of such an incredible gesture……Just honoured! Immensely!

There really needs to be more words to express THANK YOU! I am MORE thank thankful! I am genuinely appreciative plus grateful and filled with intense gratitude…….

THE BELOW IS FROM LIZ/JANE:

"It was a difficult decision as to the charity who we would pick to receive the donation as all of the Ottawa charities work so hard.

We decided on Birch Haven Rescue and Rehabilitation to receive the $500 donation! BHRR is an amazing rescue who is in need of money to feed the large and giant breeds they rescue – this money will go a long way towards food and vet bills for them!

Thank you again to all who voted. I am so very proud to live in this great city surrounded by fellow dog lovers.

With love and belly rubs,
Liz (and Jane)"

**Could I please ask our fans/supporters/family/friends to take a moment and go over and CONGRATULATE Liz/Jane immensely and tell them HOW uber awesome they are with what they do daily!!!**

AND, here is what I wrote on their lovely Blog post!

HUGE Congratulations Liz & Jane!!! Extremely well deserved! Your blog is quite important and valued deeply by so many and you make a BIG difference daily with all your efforts! I have loved watching your amazing ‘baby’ grow plus develop!

As Liz/Jane have posted, there are SO many great r/q Rescues deserving and in need and, I am touched, humbled and feel immensely privileged to have had our small rescue of Birch Haven Rescue & Rehabilitation Services chosen to be the recipient of such an incredible gesture……Just honoured! Immensely!

I also wish to publicly thank Camp Cookstown from my heart, for having such a great contest, for helping to get the word out regarding so many fantastic online blogs and for supporting the work done in animal rescue with this very generous and lifesaving gift of $500.

There really needs to be more words to express THANK YOU! I am MORE thank thankful! I am genuinely appreciative plus humbled and filled with intense gratitude…….

BHRR's Spice is FINALLY ready to make her announcement! Well….actually she has been ready from some time yet, as with the same thing that I wanted with BHRR's Abby, I was waiting for some professional photo's to be done – THANKS AGAIN Liz!!! πŸ™‚ – and due to bad weather we had to reschedule twice! πŸ™ Her sister BHRR's Spice has been in her own home for many months now, yet, then again, her sister did not have four surgeries on those eyes. πŸ™

She is healthy now and you can see from the photo's below that her eyes have done very well! πŸ™‚

WELL, wait no longer! SHE is now AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

ALL around 90 pounds of her! AND, still growing!

She has come SO far with her worries and nerves of places and people AND, she is even not minding getting into the car any longer! Very social, playful and special girl!

She can go to a home that works pt, ft, from home, semi-retired or retired!

She can go to a home that has children – no younger than 7 please and I would LOVE to see her in a home with at least one great matched fit dog that will continue to help her come into her own AND I have to say, that she ROCKED today! She went fairy willingly with one of my approved BHRR Volunteers for a bit of a walk away from me AND that never would have happened months ago.

I would consider a home without any other dogs yet, they must have a strong doggie social network in place so that BHRR's Spice has her own friends. SHE loves playing and has come a LONG way even learning what play was!

She is 100% housebroken and has had full run of our house for many months and is 100% trustworthy here.

She LOVES all kinds of toys and a Kuranda bed is her favourite place to sleep. πŸ™‚

THANK you again to BHRR's Cosette's fabu mom for working with members of the BHRR BOD on this poster!

Katoby Distribution is having their FIRST even Campaign For Rescue Voting Contest!

This contest was created via nominations and on Monday July 1st, BHRR received an email regarding this voting contest and what a surprise PLUS honour to note that we were one of the organizations chosen to participate!

They have 4 prize packs totaling over $4000 in valuable food and products to give to the rescue groups you think deserve it! Top 3 dog rescues and the top cat rescue will each win a prize pack (as determined by votes). One lucky voter will also receive a price pack worth over $250!

Voting ends July 15 at noon – one vote per day per person!

BHRR's Spice had a good night and her weight was 35.6 Kgs(78.32 pounds) when she had her surgery yesterday! SNIFF! She is growing up!

THIS is my latest GOOD WITH CATS UPDATE post!

This lovely Canine has proven to be 'good' with cats. YET, as always, careful integration is an VERY important key and the personalities also!

I also want to stress that THE Hobbits of BHRR's Baggins & BHRR's Bilbo are only mere puppies right now….their 'cat' goodness could well change as they mature.

We cat test our dogs as we can. Sean is allergic to cats and most of our own dogs are scared of cats and yet, doing thorough evaluations plus assessments and getting to know the BHRR dogs thoroughly, my knowledge of them and experience with them and gut/instinct have gone a long way in helping to determine if the dogs may or may not be good. Others do remain an 'unknown'.

So, BHRR's Spice is doing well now that she is home from her third attempt at her cherry eyes.

As posted previously, should this attempt fail, we are not putting her through yet, another surgery….She has had three surgeries so far and that is more than enough. Once she heals, she shall be placed up for adoption.

BHRR's Spice is scheduled for her third surgery on those Cherry Eyes on May 16th. Now, that she is older, we are going to give this one more try.

Should this third surgery fail, we will not be putting her through a fourth surgery. She will have had enough.

Keep everything crossed that this time works for her!

Barking Bone Designs – Custom Pet Art has been so generous and kind and will donate up to February 17th, 2013$5.00 of the sales of every personalized accessory, key chain or necklace!

PLEASE make sure that you mention Birch Haven Rescue and Rehabilitation Services(BHRR) when you order!

Colours and sayings can be changed easily!

S&H is ONLY $2 in Canada for one item and $3 for two!

BHRR has some new urgent animal medical cases in the pipe….the funds raised will deeply assist!

EMAIL BarkingBone@hotmail.com for more information and to have Sarah answer any questions you may have!!!

THANK YOU Sarah!!!!

PLEASE CROSSPOST! πŸ™‚

BHRR's Spice came with me and my Bunker Dude to a public education and awareness event on Sunday January 29th at Forever Friends.

SHE did really well!

Her leash manners were fabu, she LOVED being brushed and just soaked up all the love that was given to her.

As we have already posted, until she is older, we cannot re-do her Cherry eyes as they did not take the first times around and so, she remains UNAVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION at this time.

When she is ready, we shall post.

Below is the slide, compliments of M. Bird of that day!

AND she has healed up beautifully from whatever she did to herself in January! Silly wabbit!

Here are BHRR's Spice's X-Rays:

I brought BHRR's Spice into work today for as of last night, she was limping.

I had put all dogs out for the night for a final pee and she was out just minutes and she came in limping…sigh. πŸ™ Poor baby…

BHRR's Spice had told me that her New Year's Resolution was to not hurt or try to kill herself and not even 24 hours into the New Year….

She let me look it all over and there was nothing stuck in between her toes like ice or a small stick and she was doing some weight bearing.

I put her on crate rest and 50 mg of Deramaxx. She still wanted to play, eat and drink normally. Yet, limited activity for her. She had a really good night, nothing abnormal noted.

There was no notieable swelling either. As of this AM, she was not weight bearing at all and the foot/knee was a bit swollen.

I cancelled BHRR's Abby's appointment for tonight and brought in BHRR's Spice instead. With the worry that I did not want her foot stepped on, I did not bring both into KAH.

She weighed 25.90 KGs(56.98 pounds) and on the way in, she had a small puke in the car too. πŸ™

A full exam did not reveal anything different than my own findings from last night and this AM. I asked for x-rays and I will post them later as I am still at work(on a break!).

We ended up x-raying more than just the left paw as her Vet wanted to compare both feet to see what is 'normal' for her.

Per the findings:

"Radiographs of the L and R forepaws do not reveal any obvious fractures or other abnormalities.

dorsopalmer and lateral views of the L and R carpus and mannus are reviewed
L DP – there is a soft tissue swelling of the digit 4, no apparent fractures.
L and R lateral – there are mineral opacities present at the doral aspect of the metacarpophalangeal joint. Due to oblique angle?

No bony lesions seen that would cause acute onset lameness of LF"

Treatment Plan:
Continued Crate Rest & Deramaxx 50 mg SID for 5 days. Should lameness not resolve, further investigation shall be required.

We also did her nails and I noticed several Papiloma's in her mouth and on her lower lip. Sigh….

Poor BHRR's Spice.

Her right cherry eye is looking fairly resolved now, yet, her left eye is not well and the move forward plan is not to do yet another surgery until she is older….with all the failures to date. So, she shall not be placed up for adoption until such time as we can resolve that for her.

SHE was a SUPERSTAR today!!! OMG! She won over so many people with her charm and 'spice'!

UPDATE Sunday December 16th, 2012:

UPDATE ON VOTING CONTEST:

As many are aware from the public blanket statement posts I was making, as soon as I understood what was able to really occur with the voting in the food contest, I contacted MDB. This was not resulting in a fair contest to all r/q Rescues involved.

We have been in conversation for the last few days re: this contest and per the positioning of BHRR, we will only wish to operate with continued integrity plus honesty and no food is worth any compromising of that.

Either we all are able to vote once a day, only ever once, or multiple times daily. What was happening was not equal or fair to all involved. BHRR and it was so important that MDB be made aware of what was happening.

I am aware that they did a reset a couple of days ago to try and have people being able to only vote once every 24 hours and some could and others still could not vote again.

We have continued to support MDB in any successful resolution they felt was necessary and per their public post today, they have decided to do a reset from scratch – starting over.

I thank EACH of our supporters and believers that have campaigned so hard to assist the animals of BHRR and in sharing! πŸ™‚ No words can tell you how much this has meant to BHRR for we do go through 120 POUNDS of dog food PER DAY.

AND good luck to all participating for round two!

BHRR's Kringle came with us to the charity animal XMAS photo shoot on Sunday December 9th at Pet Valu Innes & Belcourt.

She has a ways to go health-wise – we are trying to figure out if we should wait longer for the eye or have a third surgery AND as we were walking through the store on our way to do the pet photos, she reacted to something and her left eye just puffed up. Went down a bit before the photos yet, she was 'reacting' to something.

We continue to work through allergy possiblities with her and she continues to be FABU with cats. The store had two cats free roaming and she LOVED them!

Below are two photos of her from December 9th, taken by Chuck Desjardins Photography. She is such a 'SPICEY' girl!

We are going to owe another $400+ at Liston Animal Hospital if any of her fans and believers would like to donate to her bills directly:

BHRR's Spice – December 9th, 2012

BHRR's 5th ANNUAL "JUST IN TIME FOR XMAS" Online Auction is ON NOW UNTIL Thursday December 6th @ 9:00 PM EST!

We currently have 122 very exciting items up for grabs! MORE being added throughout the last day of this auction! πŸ™‚

All monies raised shall go to the care of animals in need of BHRR and also assist the two new Saint Bernards headed our way!

BHRR does not adopt out during the XMAS season due to our position that it is not in the best interest of a new addition being added during such a busy, exciting and somewhat stressful time for many. Our XMAS Shutdown period for this year is from Saturday December 15th, 2012 to Monday January 7th, 2013 inclusive.

Sooooooooooooo, while BHRR's Spice's eye is MUCH better after round II surgery, it is still not normal….sigh…. πŸ™

So, I shall be making another appointment to bring her in to see Dr. Liston. What a monkey!

In preparation in having to do some emergency fundraising for BHRR's Autumn's ever growing mounting bills that shall include having several surgeries, we are going to be offering up  a small  BHRR's Autumn's EMERGENCY Online Auction

Auction details and how to bid can be found HERE – ITEMS can be added at any time – so, please check back!

Starts 6:00 AM EST on Monday October 29th, 2012
Ends 10:00 PM EST on Monday November 5th, 2012

NOTE: BHRR's Autumn's EMERGENCY ONLINE AUCTION does not replace our 5th ANNUAL 'JUST IN TIME FOR XMAS' ONLINE Auction to commence on Saturday November 24th, 2012!

UPDATE: BHRR's Spice's(littermate to BHRR's Sugar) had her second cherry eye surgery yesterday. It went well and when the Vet was in he noted that he could see where the sutures gave way from the first procedure.

It is such thin material used that it happens! Dr. Liston told me that in the old days they used to just cut it off as opposed to suturing. The problem was the risk of dry eye, especially for some breeds. Interesting tidbit all of this was!

She is back in her fashionable cone with extras on hand…. πŸ˜‰ AND her weight was 21.3 KGs(46.86 pounds), so putting on the weight nicely as a 'wee' Giant!

Boo! πŸ™ The vet has confirmed that BHRR's Spice's one eye did not 'take' and we need to re-do the surgery. πŸ™ Dr. Liston said to re-do sooner rather than later before the 'pocket' made fully heals.

So, she is back on Friday November 2nd, 2012 for another surgery.

Think of her!! Lots and lots and lots of 'good eye' thoughts please!

Her weight is now 20.3 KGs(44.66 pounds). YOU GO GIRL!

We are going to owe another $400+ at Liston Animal Hospital if any of her fans and believers would like to donate to her bills directly:

I have an appointment set-up to see Dr. Liston at LAH for 4 PM on Wednesday to re-visit BHRR's Spice's one eye. πŸ™

I shall be making an appointment to bring BHRR's Spice back into LAH for her one eye is not better and in fact, it is much worse. DARN! πŸ™ I am going to try and get her in on Wednesday for I have to be at a meeting that afternoon as is.

We still owe almost $400 at Liston Animal Hospital alone if any of her fans and believers would like to donate to her bills directly:

From Friday October 19th to Sunday November 4th inclusive, BHRR will not be open for adoptions or the intake of adoption applications.

BHRR News UPDATE for Wednesday!

1. Please think of BHRR's Spice Girl today – she is having her cherry eyes surgically addressed today….plus, having a recheck on her spay incision for she seems to have had an allergic reaction to the sub sutures.

Donations to her bills for today(THANKS from my heart for any consideration! Even $5.00 is not too little!) can be made direct to Liston Animal Hospital (613) 591-0966 Her Vet Bills to date are almost $1,600 before her surgery today.

2. I am bringing BHRR's Autumn back into KAH. We need to re-visit those growths/lumps and I am not feeling good about where she is at with weight gain and overall health. I am worried about her. πŸ™ PLEASE keep her in your positive thoughts too!

Donations to her Vet Bills can be made direct to Kanata Animal Hospital (613) 836-2848 for anyone else that would like to be an 'Autumn AWESOMEFIED Angel' Her Vet Bills to date are almost $1,800 and she has yet to even be spayed etc. due to her emaciated state.

***For everyone that has supported the BHRR animals and continues to do so, I humbly remain yours truly and am sincerely blessed to have this very generous plus kind support. AND even if a $1, $2 or more cannot be spared, just the notes and emails, texts and calls plus cards of kindness plus belief that are sent our way daily, MEANS the world and that keeps us smiling on days that one would otherwise cry……***

UPDATE: 11 AM:

UPDATE: thank you rescue angels!!

$35 in donations have come to BHRR's Spice & BHRR's Autumn's way!! Thank you to their special angels!!

As so many know, $5 is HUGE to me and this is $$$ that neither sweet dog had this AM for their care and I remain so filled with the truest feelings of being blessed!

AND thanks to each of you for the extra thoughts of light sent our way this AM so far for these two worthy dogs! My emails and texts and pm's have been such a joy to read!

I shall post updates as I can…..

;
UPDATE: 3 PM:

UPDATE: BHRR's Spice is out of surgery! Went well. She will be wearing a fashionable cone for a bit, having eye ointment, put on Deramaxx for pain and she also needs antibiotics for her spay incision due to the reaction and has a slight infection.

BHRR's Spice is heading into Liston Animal Hospital on Wednesday October 24th, 2012 to have her cherry eyes surgically addressed. PLEASE keep her in your thoughts! You can donate direct to her Bills at Liston Animal Hospital by calling (613) 591-0966 or in person @ 4055 Carling Av Kanata  Kanata, ON K2K 2A4

She could really use some more supporters/angels and all day tomorrow – Wednesday October 24th, we are asking if anyone could even donate $5.00 to her Vet Bills while she is in surgery. EVEN $5.00 would make such a difference.

BHRR as a special needs Rescue always has huge vet bills yet, right now, with so many medical cases including still to have to do 7 more mature spays/neuters, our bills are just massive.

OR you can continue to donate to her bills at Kanata Animal Hospital for we still owe almost $1,400 on her bills. THANK YOU to all that will consider assisting her! πŸ™‚

Oh yes!! Jumping up and down! Up and down! The histo is back on the abnormal ovary sent of for pathology for BHRR's Spice! They did a couple of extra slides just to double check things and everything is normal!! YES! YES!

So, after she recovers from her spay, she shall have her cherry eyes surgically addressed on the 24th and after her recovery, be ready for adoption.

What a brave and strong wee 'Giant' she is!!

We are still awaiting the pathology on BHRR's Spice's ovary. Will update ASAP. She and BHRR's Sugar are recovering from their spays very well!

BHRR's Sugar & BHRR's Spice are having their spays today.

Unfortunatetely, we are unable to also do BHRR's Spice's bilateral cherry eyes for upon further investigation into what she requires, it is more complicated than originally thought by the Vet doing the spays.

Therefore, once she is recovered from her spay, about 10-14 days, we shall do her cherry eyes.

Once BHRR's Sugar recovers from her own spay, she shall be pretty much ready to be placed up for adoption. She is still quite shy, yet, doing so much better.

Both have continued to just bloom at BHRR and with the continued patience, consistency, time, positive reinforcement and structure plus obedience in their new homes(may their new homes find them sooner rather than later!) they are going to be super assets to home and community! πŸ™‚

BHRR’s Sugar & BHRR’s Spice had their vet visits tonight.

BHRR’s Sugar was 15.3 KGs(33.66 pounds) & BHRR’s Spice was 16.4 KGs(36.08 pounds). Both were microchipped and received their DAPP + Rabies vaccines AND had their presurgical bw done.

It has been confirmed that BHRR’s Spice does have bilateral cherry eyes and the one Vet felt that waiting until she is 1 would be a more successful option for her than doing this surgery now. I shall also see what the Vet who is doing her spay also feels. If the surgery is best to wait and BHRR’s Spice is still with us at one year of age, we shall do the surgery then. Should she be adopted, BHRR will pay for her surgery at KAH to be done as that is our Vet Hospital of choice.

Once I added the benadrly to BHRR’s Spice regime, she was feeling so much better……so whatever allegen it was, it seems to have dissipated and she is back to her regular ‘imp’ self at home – the evidence is in the chewed cords to Sean’s laptop, our telephone and one computer…..all were not plugged in at that time…….so safe for her…not fun for us!

BHRR’s Sugar was much more outgoing and active than her sister at the Vets. Her leash manners are better too. She does not like doorways though.

I did BHRR’s Sugar’s nails and just touched up BHRR’s Spice’s nails.

Their spays have been moved up to October 11th so that we have the best chance of avoiding a heat and the Vet did not feel that waiting two weeks post vaccines was necessary.

Both showed impeccable manners with sitting and when I let them off their leashes, tails were up and wagging and BHRR’s Spice was Ms. Explorer while BHRR’s Sugar much preferred to lay or sit near me.

Will try to get more photos to post of them both. πŸ™‚

I had scheduled BHRR's Sugar and BHRR's Spice's Vet appointment for boosters, microchipping, bw for spaying etc. for October 3rd at 6:50 PM yet, with all that BHRR's Spice is going on and that she shall have to be on antibiotics for at least 7 days, I am going to hold off on her boosters and just bring in BHRR's Sugar and have the BHRR's Spice use this time as a recheck. Maybe, she shall be well enough, maybe not.

I have scheduled both of their spays for October 18th, 2012 at this time.

Sooooooooooooo, it only took 34 hours before BHRR's Spice needed a Vet visit(sigh…poor wee thing)….

Went to bed last night/this AM – 12:30 AM(yes, early!) after making sure two of my own two babies were all set on their IV fluids/meds and all was quiet and settled in the house.

Wake up at 4:45 AM and go to let BHRR's Spice & BHRR's Sugar out and BHRR's Spice's eyes were like she had developed bilateral cherry eye overnight….

So, off to the Vet we went suspected possible allergic reaction, maybe cherry eyes and bw done, full exam, fecal, nail trim, NSAID injection of Metacam and NSAIDs to go home, lots of loving and BHRR's Spice has inflammation – possible spider or bug bite – cause really unknown as to this inflammation. Bloodwork does indicate anemia(not surprising) and possible parasites(she is being dewormed as of Sunday night) and a sightly elevated WBC.

It is very painful for her mouth to be opened, she cannot take treats or drink well, no swollen lymph glands, low grade fever, lethargic(AND that is not her!) and just feeling overall uncomfortable and all ickiness. πŸ™

Her weight was a painfully thin 14.6 KGs(32.12 pounds) and she should be at least another 15 pounds at her current size. AND the Vet concurs, that she has to be around 6 months of age, not 5 with those adult teethies in there. AND they also felt that she looked more like a flat coated retriever yet with newfie ears! AND 100% cuteness overload! :)-

So, BHRR's Spice really could benefit from some 'SPICE SAVING' Angels and for anyone considering to donate to her mounting bills as we try to figure all of this out for her:

UPDATE: September 25th, 2012 @ 6 PM:

On my way back in with BHRR's Spice. She is not better. She is worse. πŸ™

Per the two Vets that saw her tonight at KAH, so, could be early sign of puppy strangles – which is NOT contagious and can be treated with steroids(no lesions though and not a classic presentation) as well as having early signs of bilateral cherry eye. Her third eyelids looks so uncomfortable for her, her eyes are puffy(they were swollen almost shut at one point), her lymph nodes are only marginally swollen and this time upon mouth examination, she did not find it painful.

Vets are puzzled and are doing all they can.

On antibiotics – Clavamox 250 mg BID, eye ointment, will subq her tonight(500 ml) and re-evaluate tomorrow unless condition worsens further.

She has no interest in food or water.

Temp is still high normal(39.4), gets her next Metacam tomorrow and she cannot have steroids due to having been given a Metacam injection this AM at that Vet visit.

Thank you KAH for being there again!!

Please keep BHRR's Spice in your thoughts…..

UPDATE: Monday September 24th, 2012:

BHRR's Spice thinks stairs are optional, why use them when she has super powers in her mind and can fly! (roll eyes)….THANK goodness they are just the few steps going to and out of the house…

AND, oh, small holes, no matter how small is where noses, necks and half our bodies should belong in….

In less than 12 hours, I have greyed up significantly…and there shall be NO collars around her neck(I like to use them for training and unless someone is watching her nonstop)….they make great 'hanging' and 'choking' devices as she likes to rub herself on things like the fireplace tools and then gets caught…

I am glad I am touching up my grey/white hairs on Friday…I am going to need them!

I think Kinsley had some kind of ESP moment BEFORE I even picked them up! :)- HOLY! Are these names bang on!

Breakfast on the patio on Monday & BHRR's Sugar

Having their first exploration adventure at BHRR & BHRR's Spice – Monday

They both had a TON of burrs in their fur. Both are a body score of about 3/4 out of 10.

They both began their deworming protocol on Sunday and both were put on Revolution.

My one observation about BHRR's Spice:

In less than 12 hours of having her, she has tried to 'hurt, kill or maim' herself three times! She is not a for the faint of heart person AT ALL!

UPDATE SUNDAY September 23rd, AM:

the pick up of the two Newf pups has been rescheduled to tonight and shall post photos for name suggestions as I shall then also know their sex.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

UPDATE SUNDAY September 23rd, EVENING:

I have the two babies! I was given two females. They are Newf/Bernerx and while there were some more giant looking; I asked and took the two most in need.

Therefore, two 'wee' females are with myself and Mason. We have a bonded pair, similar to BHRR's Rose & BHRR's Petal.

We are told they are around five months, yet; their teeth are indicating somewhat older – 6 months or so. πŸ™‚

They shall need names and my daughter suggests 'Sugar & Spice' and ideas from all the wonderful name gurus on the board would be awesome!

They are black with white and are SUPER SUPER tiny!

Welcome to BHRR little lovelies!!!
