Frost ‘T’ was brought to the Vet last week as he took a huge dive downward. He weighed in at 57.6 KGs(126.72 pounds) and is still having diarrhoea. He had bloody fluid draining from his nose. We also did a fecal culture and a fecal sample plus he is now on Flagyl. He did not begin to eat again until Saturday and has eaten a bit more today. The Vet also determined that he is a lot weaker in breathing from is left nostril than his right. We continue to monitor and thanks to everyone for there support for Frost ‘T’.

I remain very touched by your labour of love. The dedication you and Sean show to each other and to your children and to your dogs(and horses!) is inspiring. Thanks again, Gwen. I’m a huge believer in “pay it forward” and in the circle-of-kindness philosophy. You and your family and your critters have brought more warmth and smiles into my life than you realize.

Look forward to talking to you about rescues in the future, your site is wonderful – I have to admit I love reading about how your rescues are coming along (especially Gracie, what a beauty!).

Gwen, I so admire what you do and for you to think of me – I am touched and thank you just doesn’t seem enough

A couple people………….have recommended u very highly – keep up the great work – have a great day!!

I brought Frost ‘T’ to the Vet with me on Saturday July 15th while I was working and as always, he was just incredible. He weighed in at 57.8 kgs again(127.16) pounds! SO, while I would wish for more, I cannot complain!!!! The heat has been so very hard on Frost ‘T’ and as a result on me as I am quite worried about it. The heat(120 degrees F or 49C) is suppose to break on Thursday, thank goodness. He is not a ‘water’ dog so I have to be extra careful when he is outside to ensure that he comes back in ASAP. Thanks to those that left notes for him on the BIG DOGS RULE MSN FORUM http://groups.msn.com/BIGDOGSRULE/dogofthemonth35.msnw & to those that felt more comfortable emailing him instead! For him to have all of this positive energy sent his way is so touching! He will make the 7 month miracle mark on July 23rd!

Lady has a new play buddy, one of my new Dane pups Dyce. AND that is a huge thing, because unlike Soul who would take the world on with three paws behind his back; Dyce is much more introverted. To pick Lady has his new play buddy is ENORMOUS and it speaks volumes about her incredible personality.

Frost ‘T’ did not end up going to the vet with me as Mazda needed me at home that day(she was spayed on the 28th). His diarrhoea is very mild now and if he would only eat more dry, that would make me most happy! 🙂 ALSO, Frost ‘T’ is DOG OF THE MONTH for July 2006 on the BIG DOGS RULE MSN FORUM http://groups.msn.com/BIGDOGSRULE/dogofthemonth35.msnw Please feel free to drop in and leave him a special note!!!!

I took Boba with me on Saturday and he now weights just under 112 pounds. This is a nice weight range for him. Boba was AMAZING in doing his nails and he hung out with everyone while I worked that day. Boba’s back nails are looking awesome now and his front one’s are coming along slowly in training those quicks back. He was a little unsure of some of the flooring at first yet quickly balanced himself out. He was happiest when all of us were in one room and would whimper if anyone of us left to go do something! What a social pack creature he is. He was very friendly to all the animals that came into the Hospital that day showing everyone what a really sweet boy he is.

Boba will be coming with me on Saturday when I go to work at the Vet Hospital for a new wiegh-in and for a manicure plus pedicure! He has settled in here wonderfully and would be a lovely fit for any number of homes such as one without any other dogs, or a multi-dog or animal home, or one with older kids or one with no kids etc. He is very calm and accepting of everything around him. I will take some new pictures to post as well.

Fancy is beginning to fill out more and wow! What a gorgeous girl! At this time, I am beginning to lean towards placing her in a foster home as she is still a little more shy and reserved than I would like to see after the amount of time that she has been with us. We see more often than not the incredible creature inside and she is very attached to me yet I feel that despite getting along with the other dogs; they overwhelm her somewhat and that has hindered her progress somewhat. We have not yet had that best matched application come in for her and I believe might be in Fancy’s best interest to place her in a foster home with less dogs yet also in a home like ours in that there is always someone home. If you are interested in temp fostering Fancy for us as all of our current foster homes are full or taking a ‘break’; please contact us.

We draw closer to the time that we will make the decision to keep Snowball as one of our own. Should she not be adopted by end of October, she shall be claimed as one of our own beloved family members.

It is most unfortunate that none of the applications received after our Pet Expo for Lady were a best match. I was very hopeful that after people had the opportunity to meet such a magnificent creature that her forever loving home would be found. I will have to take new pictures as she has been sporting her brand new red collar for quite some time and it looks FABULOUS against her gorgeous colouring. We shall remain patient and wait for the right application to be received.

Mazda is healing well after her spay. Her first night home was a wee bit rough with a couple of vomits and then diarrhoea for a few more days after that. We now have her posted on our PetFinder site and applications are begin to come in to be considered in adopting her. THIS girl is stunning inside and out and she really does not need us or our program anymore. She is very social, friendly and will have very little trouble settling into a new home. Her obedience will need to be continued as she is a very strong girl both physically plus mentally and for the wrong inexperienced home, she will walk all over you. I call her lovingly my ‘mule’ for if someone is trying to walk her that is unsure or hesitant, she will only listen if treats are involved. Otherwise she will just sit or stand with this ‘look’ on her face that I could only compare to a mule! LOL With me, she knows that when the leash goes on, it is time to walk and off we go and she is expected to walk in a heal until I ‘release’ her. She knows that walking for me is not pulling, yanking or even being a ‘mule.’ She knows authority when she hears it and listens beautifully yet if you hope to have her share your bed; you better make sure it is a King Sized one as she has no qualms about taking over what space she feels she needs! 🙂 Sean is forever waking up with a number limb as she is lying on him! While not a violent cuddler, she is soooooooooo affectionate and has really claimed Sean as her own. This girl has personality+ and she is like a star burning brightly and making our lives shine!
