**BHRR has a HUGE need for several more wonderful foster homes in Eastern Ontario.**
**BHRR is in need of Kong/Rope Toys, Beef Bones, Comforters/Duvets, Costco Dog beds, Large Floor Bath Matts, Stamps & Towels.

We do not receive government, provincial or corporate funding and are completely financed by monetary gifts, owner surrender plus adoption fees but mostly out of our own pocket money.

We always welcome foster homes, volunteers to wash and brush animals, people to clean ears and clip nails, dog walkers, canine cuddlers, drivers and transporter of animals to and from vet apt.’s, airports and drop-offs of animals to their new forever loving homes.

 

PLUS OTHER WAYS U CAN HELP!

1 – Donate Canadian Tire Money.
2 – Become a Member.
3 – When celebrating a Birthday, Anniversary or other special event, ask people to make a donation to the rescue group in your name instead of getting you a present.
4 – Donate a collar, harnesses or leash.
5 – Donate horse blankets, halters, lead ropes, hoof picks etc.
6 – Donate a soft toy, Kong, Booda bone, Buster Cube or other “dog friendly” toy.
7 – Donate a crate, x-pens or baby gates.
8 – Donate some treats or a bags of dog food. Donate Hay, grain, bedding for horses or even farrier/floating teeth care.
9- Groom a dog or horse.
10- Donate some grooming supplies (shampoos, combs, conditioners, etc.).
11- Periodically check pounds or shelters for Giant Breeds.
12- Check the newspaper for “Free to Good Home” and “Found” Giant Breed ads and let the rescue know about them.
13- Answer the phone voice mail messages for a few days or a month.
14- Provide local vet Clinics/Hospitals with contact information for Giant Breed rescue.
15- Donate stamps.
16- Donate long distance calling cards.
17- Attend Humane Education Events etc. with the Rescue group and work on educating people on responsible pet ownership, the Dane breed and about rescue.
18- Donate a Pet Store or other applicable gift certificates to the Rescue.
19- Donate a raffle item or auction items for fundraising. Help come up with unique plus effective Fundraising ideas.
20- Make a quilt, blanket, or other special item that can be used for a raffle or auction.
21- Auction something on EBay or another auction site with the proceeds going to rescue (usually you can bring in more money if people know its for rescue).
22- Donate flea control products (Advantage, Frontline, Sentinel etc.).
23- Donate heartworm pills or pay for HW tests, X-Rays, Blood work.
24- Donate medicines that you no longer use for your dog.
25- Write an article for the Rescue’s Newsletter or even your local Paper.
26- Watch a foster family’s dog(s) for a few days or weeks when the foster family goes on vacation.
27- Contact applicable companies to donate items for “adoption packages” for new adopters.
28- Conduct a home visit or accompany a rescue person on the home visit.
29- Have a yard sale and donate proceeds to rescue.
30- Be the Rescue point of contact in your area.
31- When a store is having a really great sale on something the rescue group could use, let the Rescue know about it.
32- Talk to your friends, family, neighbours and coworkers about adopting and fostering Giant Breeds.
33- If you are a Vet (Clinic or Hospital) – donate Vet services or donate a spay or neuter each year or some vaccinations.
34- Talk to Vets to encourage them to offer discounts to Giant Breed Rescue.
35- Write a column for your local newspaper or club newsletter about dogs looking for homes or ways to help Rescue.
36- Help organize, volunteer and run Fundraising events.
37- Donate cleaning supplies, bedding, bowls etc.
38- If you have your own Business – promote Giant Breed Rescue on your site.
39- Pay the cost of taking a dog to obedience class or volunteer to take a Rescue to class.
40- Offer to test the foster dog with cats, wheelchairs, other dogs etc.
41- Pay for the dog to be groomed or take the dog to the Grooming Salon on behalf of the Rescue.
42- Pay a house-cleaning service to do the Spring/Fall cleaning for the Rescue or for someone who fosters dogs all the time.
43- Lend your artistic talents to a newsletter, fundraising ideas, T-shirt designs, doggie coats, sketches, logos etc.
44- Donate printer paper, paper for newsletters or flyers and envelopes.
45- Go with a rescue person to the vet if a foster dog needs to be euthanized.
46- Donate frequent flyer miles.
47- Go to local businesses and solicit donations for a Fundraising event.
48- Offer to feed and/or walk a foster’s dog(s).
49- Educate people you meet about the dire need to spay and neuter.
50- Donate a coupon for a free car wash or inside cleaning of a vehicle.
51- Donate prepaid gasoline cards.
52- If you are a breeder, donate a small percentage of the sale of each pup to Rescue.
53- Buy two dog-items at a PetStore and donate one of those items to Rescue.
54- Provide in your will to cover the cost of caring for your dogs after you are gone – so Giant Breed Rescue won’t have to.
55- Make provisions in your will to support your local Rescue
56- Donate your professional services as an accountant, printer or other Business services.
57- Donate the use of your vehicle or if you know a Car Dealership; talk to them about offering discounted or free service for Rescue.
58- Donate a cell phone (and cover costs for any calls or buy a prepaid card) to those who transport dogs.
59- Talk to your child’s class or Club about responsible pet ownership.
60- Organize a “Spare Change Drive” and get coworkers, friends, neighbours plus family to donate all their loose change to the Rescue group.
61- Donate your legal expertise to a Rescue to obtain their Charity or Non-Profit Status or to provide other free or discounted legal advice.
62- Donate money through PayPal so that the Rescue can save more animals
63. Photo copy dogs from our websites and post up in your office building
