Hygromas

We deal with Hygromas in Rescue very frequently.

We take each case and evaluate/treat on an individual basis.

BHRR’s Miss Gracie(One of our Rescues now adopted) had a really nasty hygroma and we made the decision to drain 40cc from it and we then wrapped it with a tensor for 6 weeks and it healed beautifully.

You can also do Massage, DMSO, Epson Salt Paste, Prep. H, lots of soft surfaces to lie on etc.

While it is not always the best to drain or do surgery on a hygroma, sometimes one must and if diligent; they will heal just fine. As much as one might wish, one cannot always avoid having to drain or do surgery on them.
