BHRR’s Archer has been BUSTED OUT OF THE KILL POUND!

BHRR’s Archer is now in boarding. While not ideal, he had to be out of the kill pound by today.

He is emaciated, and yes, to confirm his tail is docked. Whether by accident or by purpose, we do not know, and it was not us that did so.

WELCOME to BHRR, Archer!

He cannot stay in boarding indefinitely. No animal does well in kennel long-term, especially Danes.

We have had a generous donation to cover 5 days of boarding. If anyone may consider making a donation to assist us, you can donate via email transfer or PayPal(friends & family option as PayPal is pulling such large fees now) to contactbhrr@gmail.com

BHRR’s Archer is our first rescue of 2026.

Thanks to the Rescue angels that made donations and thanks to Wiggle Bumz for donating a collar/leash and to Barbara /Alex or the dog bed.

For those inquiring regarding about a coat – I was going to use one of my own from one of my Danes for him yet if anyone would like to get him one – Julie of Chilly Dogs makes excellent coats XXL or we also love the Shedrow coats from Greenhawk, XXL.

I have bowls, am working on receiving another kind food donation, and have two items that have not had any bids in the past in online auctions that I will be putting up for grabs.

Shortly, I will be posting for driveways! For our Annual Driveway events!

We were asked to assist a 4-year-old Great Dane, Male, Merle, whose O. had been evicted from their apartment. This Dane entered a kill pound along with a female Great Dane. We are presently trying to find information on her.

I am going to call him: BHRR’s Acher – The spiritual meaning of ‘Archer’ – *It is the letting go* – We shall be letting go of his past, he lives in the present, and we are looking forward to his great future!

The biblical meaning of ‘Archer’ – *The archer is a striking symbol of strength* It is a strong name for a very sweet and shy boy who has gone through so much, and inside he has a strength that we will ensure he truly realises and reaches his full potential.

He is in need of the following if anyone may consider his cause:

What is urgently needed right now:

1) He will need a cloth martingale collar and leash, plus an XL dog bed – Costco’s Charlie beds are excellent.

2) Donations towards Vet Bills. We will need to fully vaccinate him, proactively/preventatively deworm him, do bloodwork, including testing for Tickborne and Heartworm, do pre-operative bloodwork, microchip him, neuter him, and address anything else that we may find that needs medical attention.

Thanks in advance!

Dear sweet boy, I am coming for you…you will be safe…just hold on a bit longer!!!

He is our first rescue of 2026. We are still looking for a foster spot for the 10-month-old English Sheepdog.

Once he is safe, we shall begin to post videos and photos.
