**HE IS A REHOMING SITUATION**
He was bought for my son. He has been a huge part of his life and world.
When my son moved out in November 2023, I continued to take care of Tango. I have paid all his vet bills since he was a puppy- from neutering to an emergency fb sx, PPQ’s, annuals, bloodwork, flea/tick/heartworm meds, food, treats, dog coats, collar/leashes, trained and kept him fit, happy, stimulated, healthy, etc.
My son is still not in a position to take his dog.
As of October 11th, I then moved from almost 150 acres, 3+ safely fenced with another safely fenced-in smaller side yard, to 1.65 acres, and although I fenced in a large area, it is not enough for Tango. He has always loved to scale things and dig, and that is who he is. I am currently at my maximum capacity for personal dogs. Yes, Salt is over 10.5 years, yet he is still very much alive and present.
Tango is used to hills, trails, forests, and my version of ‘running’, and I kept my son updated since he moved out that I would keep Tango for him as long as I could. Hoping that my son would find himself in a position sooner rather than later to be able to take Tango back.
Tango does have some anxiety. He is not on meds, yet like all dogs, he needs consistency, stability, and structure.
With my having major surgery on October 12th, this has been a big topic of conversation between my son and me.
Tango is his dog. He has asked for my assistance in re-homing Tango, having nearly 30 years of experience working in rescue.
If you have gotten this far, what Tango needs is a new place to call his home.
He is excellent with other dogs and people, is housebroken, crate-trained, and is not a hunting dog – the sound of even a nail gun doing renovations has made him submissive urinate. He is a cherished indoor dog and up to date on vaccines. He is full of personality, affectionate, loves with his whole heart, and wags his entire body with the best wiggles!
There is a rehoming fee of $400, a screening, and a contract that must be signed. He is to come back to our family for any reason that a new home cannot keep him.
The last GSP we took into our rescue lived to almost 15 years old. Tango is not even six as of yet.
My heart is heavy….mostly for Tango.
