We have made the decision to move BHRR’s Maybelle to our Haven Program.
We have been working hard to keep her developed seizure activity under control. She is now on three types of medications – Keppra, Pheno, and Zonisamide – though we have been informed that they are most likely to be unsuccessful. Blood-thinners were also added to her medication regimen. Through scans, we have learned that she has a structural brain disorder of narrowed brain arteries, which can also lead to strokes. This is a congenital abnormality. Her sister Nala was a victim of seizures too.
Because she is so happy, active, and maturing(having gotten bigger as she grew up), BHRR’s Maybelle’s seizure activity has increased.
This is her playing ‘peek-a-boo’ on her way to one of her neuro visits!
